‘Ultimately, the most important thing for Zemčík is a sense of community: “Releasing tapes and writing about music is a hobby for me. I never expected it to become a job or make any money out of it. I found out the only healthy environment is when there is actually community behind everything. I never saw anyone as a competitor. I never saw bands releasing on my label and then elsewhere as a problem. I always felt like if we help each other, we can do better—all of us.”

Charlie is a good friend and occasional Start-Track collaborator at our shows here in Mexico City. This is a record he made a few years ago that is well worth a listen. Blissful, 70s-tinged, hook-heavy jams with some fuzzy lo-fi comfort for good measure.
